“If you are watching the parade, bring your lawn chair to any shady spot along Main Street in Trappe from 7th Avenue down to First Avenue,” said a press release from organizers.  “Plenty of great viewing spots are available!”

More than 60 floats, bands, antique cars, horses, civic and youth groups, police, fire engines and more will participate.

“A number of armed forces and military groups will be represented, including the Gold Star Mothers, who have a son or daughter serving in the military, and the Blue Star Mothers, who have lost a son or daughter,” said organizers.

The “Patriotic Songs” theme “provides creative inspiration for floats and banners and encourages more musicians and bands to join in than last year,” according to the release.

After the parade, a short Memorial Day observance led by Pastor Martha Kriebel of Trinity Church will be held in Waterworks Park.
