Child Attacked by Dog in Perkiomen [UPDATE]
The incident occurred in the Maple Hill Community off Rt. 29; the dog was put down by Pennsylvania State Police after the attack.

A Rottweiler was "put down" in the Maple Hill Community in Perkiomen Township on Sunday night after attacking a child who suffered bite wounds to her leg, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.
Member of the Lower Frederick Regional Ambulance Corps were dispatched to Lexington Road off of Rt. 29 for the initial "animal bite," according to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, and Pennsylvania State Police officers were also on the scene.

According to the PSP, residents on Lexington Road had either just purchased or were planning on purchasing the dog when the girl was attacked.

"After [the dog] came at our officer and an animal control officer, we had to put the dog down," said Trooper Morgan Crummy with the PSP.
According to Crummy, there will be no charges filed against the family who had the dog, as they "did everything that they could do."
