Why are you seeking elective office?
It is my position that the school board is in need of leaders to work with the administration and hold people accountable (good and bad) for the actions that happen in our District.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
All issues are important and none are more important then the other. We have a gap loss in education due to COVID that needs to be fixed. We have an overall grade issue dropping that needs to be solved and we need to regain trust in our community. I don't intend to do anything, this is not an "I" item rather a "we." We need to make sure the school board is allowing the professionals to do their job. We need to make sure we ask critical data questions to the professionals and hold them accountable. We need to spend more time in "debate" on crucial issues and focus more on real educational issues facing our students.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Personally, I believe the Flip4PV group has been very open and honest in items we need to see change in our community.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
I feel the community has lost trust in the overall aspect of the board. I feel the current board leadership attempts to mic-mange and run the school as if they are the professionals. We should NOT be in this to help our own child but the community as a whole.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform
Need to bring Civics back into the educational platform.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have spent many years working on various boards and I believe I have an ability to help lead our district the next four years.
