Fireworks Stands Annually Pop Up
Be safe and be smart when it comes to sparklers, smoking and spinning devices.
As we celebrate our freedoms this Independence Day, and are reminded that "freedom isn't free," PA residents should also remember it isn't limitless.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police website, commonwealth residents "may purchase consumer fireworks only with a display permit issued by the municipality wherein the display will take place."

Otherwise, the only items Pennsylvanians can legally buy and use are "'ground and hand-held sparkling devices,' 'novelties' and 'toy caps,'" the PSP FAQ section reports.
So, if you're in the market for sparklers, spinners or smokers, there are temporary shops--including several from Keystone Fireworks--set up around the area.

At the Keystone stands, prices range from around $1 to nearly $100 for the "High Voltage" assortment pack. In Skippack, the fountain device Big Dog was the best seller.
If you're hoping to hit a stand and be ushered behind a secret door or peek beneath a tablecloth and see a stash of contraband fireworks, you're out of luck. Only novelty devices are available.
In the PV area, stand locations include next to Chiaro's in Skippack; next to ; between and Perkiomen Inn at the intersection of Ridge Pike and Route 29/Gravel Pike and the Collegeville Shopping Center lot (with , and other stores.)
