Hazardous Waste Collection at PVHS Saturday

Residents can drop off items from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Perkiomen Valley residents can bring hazardous materials to Perkiomen High School Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m

Household hazardous waste normally includes labels such as "Warning," "Caution," "Poisonous," "Toxic," "Flammable," "Corrosive," "Reactive" or "Explosive."

Items include automotive products such as motor oil, transmission fluid brake fluid, antifreeze kerosene and gasoline; pesticides and herbicides; household products like oven cleaners, spot remover, dry cleaning fluid and rug cleaner; paint products like paint thinner or turpentine, paint remover, oil-based paint, furniture stripper and refinisher, dyes, lighter fluids, and sealers.

The drop-off is part of a five-county effort – last year, more than 2 million pounds of hazardous waste and electronics were collected.
