This year, students are rolling up their sleeves to help Perkiomen Valley High and Middle school students battle bullying. With the help of The Ophelia Project, based in Erie, Pa., the college kids aim to lower the school district's students facing "relational and other non-physical forms of aggression by providing them with a unique combination of tools, strategies and solutions."
On Thursday night, from 5 to 9 p.m., Ophelia organizers hosted a Cake Walk fundraiser for students to enjoy on campus. Hosted in Lower Wismer, the students asked their peers to take a walk down the line. Marked out in green tape, the "line" included numbers for each participant.
Guests, for $1 per round, danced or walked down the line as music played. When the music stopped, so did the players. Then, numbers were drawn to see who won. If you were stopped standing on a number, and it was called, you were the winner. Your prize? Your choice of any cake on the table. From chocolate, to vanilla, pineapple to pretzel, there was a wide variety of selections.

The funds raised will help support the Ursinus Ophelia Project, in which students from the college will assist younger students in with bullying problems.
These Ursinus students kicked off their fundraising season with ease. In fact, it was a Cake Walk.
