Limerick Reactor Shut Down After Valve Closure

Officials said there should be no impact on customers.

One of Limerick Generating Station’s two nuclear reactors has been taken offline after a valve closure.

Unit 1 was automatically taken offline around 9:40 p.m. Monday after a valve on one of the main steam lines closed, officials told The Philadelphia Inquirer, adding that all the equipment responded as it was supposed to.

There should be no impact on customers, The Reading Eagle said.
