Lower Frederick Plays a Part in National Drug Take-Back Day
People in the area cleared out unused medicines to curb the use of prescription drug abuse.
and a volunteer—Miss Perkiomen Valley Stephanie Frazier—manned the drop-off box at the township building during National Drug Take-Back Day.
The annual event encourages people to properly dispose of unused prescription medication in their homes by dropping off the drugs at designated locations. Unused medicine could end up in the hands of young people, planting the seeds of prescription drug abuse; or, it could be dumped down the sink or flushed down the toilet, which puts the chemicals in the public water supply.
