Employee Stole $27K From Trappe Maidpro, Police Say

A former employee of Trappe’s Maidpro was arrested on Feb. 26 for stealing $27,000 from her employer after generating fraudulent W-2 statements for individuals who never worked for the company, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Jennifer Johnson was an administrative and human resources assistant for the company when she allegedly created W-2 earnings statements for applicants of Maidpro who had never done work for Maidpro, police said.

PSP Trooper John Becker investigated the matter, concluding that between Nov. 15 of 2011 and Dec. 15 of 2012, Johnson allegedly used applicant and employee information of Maidpro to generate 72 fraudulent direct deposit transactions totaling $27,000.

Johnson was fired from the company in December, according to the report.

Johnson was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Cathleen K. Rebar on charges of identity theft, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, unlawful use of computer, computer trespass and tampering with records.

Johnson’s bail was set at $50,000, unsecured.
