Gettysburg scored the lone goal in the 64th minute of play on Friday night as the Bullets (2-3, 1-0 Centennial) defeated (1-5, 0-1 Centennial) 1-0 in a spirited men’s soccer matchup on Patterson Field.
Junior back Craig Heckman scored on a header on the left side of the goal via a corner from sophomore back Andrew LaFontaine at 63:55.
Ursinus, who was outshot 14-8, had several chances in the second half. The Bears had one last gasp in the final minute, but a header sailed high as time expired. Senior goalkeeper Mike Alfieri (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) made five saves in the loss.
