Mayah Montero, a 10-year-old student who lives in Pennsburg, Montgomery County, wrote a book after witnessing young students being bullied.

PENNSBURG, PA — Some non-fiction authors are inspired by personal life experiences.

But most non-fiction authors aren’t using their grade school experiences to inspire their writings – while they’re still in grade school.

“I actually have stood up for someone because we were at a park and this girl started bullying my friend. And so, I just told them to stop,” Mayah Montero told 6 ABC Action News in a recent interview on the event two years ago that was the catalyst behind her book writing.

The television spot highlighted Montero’s book, titled “The Adventures of Ava and Mia,” which was inspired by the young author’s personal, firsthand look at bullying.
