Here are some news and notes for today.

What’s Happening Today
• It’s the first day of school for Perkiomen Valley School District students.
• kindergarten boys have school today, and the preschoolers will also begin today.
• The high school teachers . If not, teachers will strike. Regardless of the vote, Catholic high school students, including , are expected to report to school Wednesday.
• Network Plus is holding a at 310 W. Third Avenue in Collegeville at 6 p.m.
• Borough Council and and Townships’ Boards of Supervisors will meet at 7 p.m.
• Perkiomen Valley School Board will hold its work session at 7:30 p.m. in the high school library.

Mark Your Calendars
• School starts tomorrow for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students.
• is Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Water Works Park.
• will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at Coble Park Sept. 10.
• The annual Revolutionary Camp and Living History event will take place from Sept. 10 to 11 in Skippack Village.
St. Mary Day will kick off at noon Sunday, Sept. 11, with a Mass and will continue throughout the afternoon with games and music.
