What’s Happening Today
There's a Tavern Talk at Appalachian Brewing Company at 7 p.m.
The topic is "A Bioethics Dilemma: Genetically Enhanced Children,” by Dr. Kelly Sorenson, assistant professor of philosophy and religion at Ursinus College.
In 2009, St Luke's UCC of Trappe, Pennsylvania Southeast Conference and Ursinus College joined forces to begin presenting a series of speakers called Tavern Talks. 

Mark Your Calendars
• Roll in to the at 201 W. Third Ave., Sept. 17. Proceeds will benefit two local children.
• A will take place at St. James Episcopal Church in Zieglerville this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A blood drive will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.
• Cub Scout Pack 105 is holding an ice cream social for recruiting Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m. at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church
Trappe Community Day has been rescheduled to Sept. 24 at Water Works Park.
St. Eleanor’s Parish is holding a Centennial Youth Event Sunday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to noon and then 2 to 5 p.m.
• A Zumbathon in memory of will take place Saturday, Sept. 24 at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Royersford. The event runs from 9 a.m. until noon. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by emailing zumbaforgabby@gmail.com. Proceeds will benefit the Vogel family.
• The is hosting its first-ever Oktoberfest Saturday, Sept. 24, from 7 to 10 p.m. The event includes music, food and samples from local breweries. There will also be a home brew competition. Entrants dropping off beers (2 12-oz. bottles for classes and at least one gallon to be considered for the People’s Choice award) at satellite locations must submit brews by Sept. 21. Admission is $25, and $15 for designated drivers. Visit here for more information.
