Officials: Driver Fell Asleep at Wheel Before Car Overturned in Perkiomen Township
Schwenksville-area man suffered minor injury; no other people, cars involved.
A Schwenksville-area man recieved a "scratch on his hand" after his car overturned and skidded down Gravel Pike on shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday, according to Trappe EMS Capt. Paul Giannini. After "working all night," the driver fell asleep at the wheel, Krystal Dugan and Giannini said.
The Nissan Sentra drifted off the road and hit a guide wire, which lifted the car and flipped it onto its roof, officials said. The car skidded several feet down the road before coming to a stop by the property. There were no passengers in the car, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The driver will be cited for the crash, Dugan said.
