Perkiomen Area Fire Crews Battled Lower Salford House Fire
Fire crews fought a residential blaze in Lower Salford Towship Thursday afternoon.
Update, 4:30 p.m.: This fire was originally reported in Schwenksville, but the home is actually in Lower Salford Township even though it has a Schwenksville address. There is still no word on the cause of the fire or whether or not anyone was injured. Patch will continue to keep this story updated as information becomes known.
LOWER SALFORD, PA — Fire crews in western Montgomery County battled a house fire in this township in the Perkiomen Valley early Thursday afternoon.
A report on CBS 3 Philly said firefighters began fighting a blaze at a home on the 700 block of Bergey's Mill Road shortly after they were called to the scene just before 12:30 p.m.

A news chopper caught the action over the residence.
The Perkiomen Township Fire Company, one of the agency's that participated in getting the fire under control, said on its Facebook page later in the afternoon that it deployed Tanker 66 with an all-volunteer crew of 7 firefighters and Engine 66 with an all-volunteer crew of 4 people to the scene of the fire.

According to an emergency incident detail report, which was made available by Perkiomen fire officials, an individual had called just before 12:30 in the afternoon to say flames were coming from the roof of the home, and they were unsure what started the fire.
The caller said an occupant was still inside the home attempting to bring the family dogs outside to safety, according to the incident detail note.
Information is still coming in and there is still no word on whether or not anyone sustained any injuries in the incident.
