Perkiomen Township Fire Co. Unveils New Website

The new Perkiomen Township Fire Co. website offers the public the ability to listen to live emergency radio communications.

PERKIOMEN TOWNSHIP, PA — After a months-long redesign, the Perkiomen Township Fire Company announced Wednesday that its new website is up and running and available for public viewing and interaction.

The website, which has the same web address as the previous incarnation, comes complete with social media links, a 3D tour of the fire station, photos, volunteering information and one very cool addition – the ability for people to listen to live emergency radio communications.

Under the website’s “News” tab, there are two sections: one for Active News and the other for Active Incidents. The latter is linked to a street map showing where incidents would be unfolding as they happen.

As of Wednesday early afternoon, the map section showed active calls for a vehicle accident and a cardiac emergency. The site says that all active incidents on the dashboard are dispatched from the Emergency Operations Center in Eagleville. It says that the events are updated at four-minute intervals from the Computer Aided Dispatch system, or CAD.

The website also has information on the department’s fleet of vehicles, with descriptions of the apparatus used by the volunteer fire company to respond to a variety of calls.
