Perkiomen Valley Field Hockey Beats Exeter Team

Girls are now 2-1 overall for the season.

Erik Enters provided the following information:

After eight days without a practice outside, it took an excellent team effort Saturday by Perkiomen Valley to win. Total control of the game from the start and a consistent 60-minute effort with no letdowns.

The midfield was dominated by Chandler Geise, Natalie Marsh and Colleen McGann. Chandler did a great job of shutting down their best player, Courtney Spleen the entire game. The tandem of forwards Sarah Roos and AnnMarie Carroll created multiple turnovers in the Exeter defensive end resulting in tons of chances and 21 shots on goal. Annie Himsworth continues to impress in her freshman season with two more goals and  an assist to go with five forced corners. If not for outstanding goal-tending by Exeter's goalie, Abby Pochran, PV might have had double digit goals. Senior Sammy Parker entered the game in the second half as the left wing and quickly showed superior stick work and converted on her two shots on goal. Jules Carfagno did a great job at Center Back helping keep Exeter to three shots and two corners for the day.

PV moves to 2-1 overall on the season as they head into their first PAC-10 contest on Monday hosting the Owen J Roberts. Boyertown game on Friday 9/9 was postponed due to poor field conditions.
