PVHS Senior Wins Rotary Speech Contest

Audree Bonavita, and six other students, evaluated ethical situations using the Four Way.

Perkiomen Valley High School Senior Audree Bonavita was named the winner of the Central Perkiomen Rotary Four-Way Speech Contest after six students from various grades took to the PVHS on March 19 to discuss ethical issues facing society today, and how to evaluate them using the business ethics test.

Sophomore Wendy Osei-Bonsu, who won the competition last year, received the second-place award on her discussion of religious intolerance, and senior Jay Adams ranked third, after addressing the college selection process.

The contest, sponsored by many clubs of Rotary District 7430,  asked students to consider an issue based on the four-way test, a widely used business ethics evaluation, created by Rotarian Herbert Taylor in 1932. The tests asked if the subject is the truth, is it fair to all concerned, will it build goodwill and better friendships, and will it be beneficial to all concerned.

Audree will move on to the area district competition on April 13.
