Ruggiero Funeral Home Flies Flag in Honor of 9/11
The memorial will remain in place throughout September.
The Ruggiero Funeral Home provided the following information:
During the month of September, the will be flying a specially designed flag to commemorate the terrorist attacks on our country, which occurred on Sept. 11, 2001. During these attacks, more than 3,000 people lost their lives, and America was changed forever.
The flag has a sky blue background with a pentagon-shaped emblem. A likeness of the Twin Towers sits on a background of white stars on a blue field and red and white stripes. The names Shanksville, PA, Washington, DC, and New York, NY, surround the emblem. A banner proclaiming "Remember 9/11 ~ 2001 -2011" crosses the emblem.

The flag will fly 24 hours a day on an illuminated 30-foot tall flag pole, replacing the company flag that ordinarily flies there.
Maureen R. Ruggiero, funeral director and owner, said, "It is important to remember those who died that day, to keep them and their families in our prayers, and to remain vigilant for those who want to harm our country and our way of life."
