Schwenksville Borough Among Top 5 'Most Affordable' Places to Live

The recently released Montgomery County Housing Report examined prices of homes sold.

Schwenksville Borough sits at number 4 in the list of top 10 most affordable homes in the county, according to the recently released Montgomery County Median Prices for Housing Report. Other municipalities that made the cut include Norristown, Pottstown and Royersford.

In an emailed comment responding to Schwenksville’s rank, Borough Council President Arthur Fairclough stated: “Those of us who live in Schwenksville would not be surprised to know that our housing units are among the most affordable in Montgomery County. We have a good mix of single-family homes, town homes and condominium units all within the half square mile area of our town.  And, as a drive around town would show, we have a number of architecturally interesting and historic homes.

"We have an elementary school within our boundaries, and a library and three large churches providing services to the community. We also have a lot of residents volunteering to help the borough with our planning commission, revitalization, zoning hearing board, historic commission and our activity committee, which organizes community day and concerts in Meadow Park.  Additional volunteers are always welcome, and it’s a good way to get to know your neighbors.
