Archaeology Field School, Clean Up Day
Other events at the Speaker’s House includes an April 13 cleanup day on the Speaker’s Grounds, and an Archaeology Field School June 4 through 22, daily.
“This year’s focus will be primarily on the identifying and dating the foundations of a c. 1780s addition to the main house as well as the remains of a bake oven,” the website says. “Students will learn how archaeological data is integrated with historical information to yield a more accurate interpretation of the past.”
The field school is open to anyone 15 or over, but the program is limited to ten participants.
The cost of the program is $200, and includes a one-year membership to The Speaker’s House. For more information, click here.
