Stolen Guns from Perkiomen Burglary Found in Trappe, Police Say

A Norristown man, pulled over for traffic violations in Trappe Borough, was allegedly in possession of two guns that were stolen in a Perkiomen Township burglary earlier in the day.

 

A Norristown man was arrested March 1 in Trappe Borough after police allegedly found two stolen guns in a vehicle after a routine traffic stop, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Devon Arnett Barnes, 21, of Norristown, was driving a silver Acura Integra on Harvard Drive in the area of Elio Circle in Trappe just before 11 p.m. when he was pulled over for an expired inspection and emissions, according to police.

Upon further investigation, Barnes was found to be in possession of two handguns that were stolen earlier that day in a Perkiomen Township burglary, according to police.

Barnes was charged with receiving stolen property and other uniform firearms act violations in District Court 38-1-20, and bail was set at $50,000 cash.

Barnes was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Montgomery County Prison. The investigation is ongoing.
