Sammie helps to run a cheer camp in the summer, and volunteers several night per week and at least one day each weekend to help coach.
As a member of the Methacton High School Varsity Cheerleader, she never misses a game, practice, or competition, according to her mom, Jennifer Maaskant.

“Over the past two years she has cheered at a high school football game and then has immediately driven to Temple afterwards to cheer on her Warrior team,” said Maaskant. “She would never let them down...I think for a junior in high school that could be doing so many other things, she has become an incredible role model to so many girls.”
