Trappe Man Arrested For Stealing From Family Member

A total of $60,722 was stolen over an 18-month period while victim was being treated at a Veterans Administration Medical Center.

The Pennsylvania State Police have announced the arrest Christopher Semetti, of Trappe, in connection with the theft of more than $60,000 over an 18-month period.

According to the report, a male family member of Semetti's initially contacted police on May 4, 2012, to report that Semetti had stolen a large sum of money from him while he was seeking treatment at a Veterans Administration Medical Center between January of 2010 and June of 2011.

A subsequent investigation was launched by members of the Skippack Barracks' Criminal Investigation Unit, which revealed that Semetti used the victim's debit card 141 times over the 18-month period, with total withdrawals totaling $60,722.31, the report states.

Semetti was arraigned before Judge Cathleen Rebar on July 10, on charges of identity theft, access device fraud and receiving stolen property. His bail was set in the amount of $10,000 unsecured,
