Trappe Republicans Face Primary Battle
Marshall Stomel is not endorsed by the Republican Committee, but has the support of 'Trappe's Trusted Team.'

With no Democrats on the ballot for borough council, forget the general election in Trappe Borough; the primary election on Tuesday is where the race will be fought.
All four Republican incumbents are running for another term on the board, but the Trappe Republican Committee – made up of elected representatives Jack Minster and Stu Strauss – believe that Republican voters should only support three of them - Cathy Johnson, Tammy Liberi and Nevin Scholl - and Pat Webster.

Marshall Stomel
Marshall Stomel is currently serving his second term on council, and has worked to fix borough roads and ensure that volunteer firefighters have the "tools they need to protect us," according to his campaign literature.
Stomel's priorities are to ensure the Trappe Volunteer Fire Company is equipped to protect Trappe residents, continue to fix borough roads, demand residents receive solid value for their tax dollars, and make sure that "narrow political or personal agendas never come before the best interests of our residents and community," his palm card says.
Pat Webster
Pat Webster is an area real estate agent, with previous experience as a government affairs manager at PECO energy.
Webster will “approach borough decisions with integrity, professionalism and initiative,” and “will apply problem-solving skills and background in government and community affairs to increase awareness and build relationships within the borough,” according to her campaign literature.
Tammy Liberi
Tammy Liberi has served as a borough council member for more than one year, and was the borough’s auditor for two years. Professionally, Liberi has been accountable for a large corporate budget at a pharmaceutical company.
According to Liberi, she “consistently calls for efforts to cut costs in addressing urgent needs without affecting taxes,” and is helping “residents and business owners feel encouraged to express concerns during council meetings”
Cathy Johnson
Cathy Johnson has served on borough council since 2008, and works to save money through planned maintenance of borough assets.
Johnson supports borough-funded trash collection, the replacement of the borough fire company building, and she has worked to provide safety for borough employees by installing a security system, and she replaced dying trees at borough hall with native plant landscaping.
Nevin H. Scholl
Nevin Scholl has served on borough council since 2003, and has worked on seven annual budgets as the council’s only CPA.
Scholl “takes a realistic approach to revenue vs. spending,” and “Identifies inefficiencies and process improvements as a way to increase borough resources,” according to campaign literature.
In other Trappe races, Connie Peck and Gretchen Lawson are running unopposed as Republicans for mayor and tax collector, respectively.
