The woman says she was standing in line at the store where she worked when a man came in and engaged in a racist attack. He was arrested.

PERKIOMENVILLE, PA — A 19-year-old woman says she was the victim of a racist attack perpetuated by a Norristown man inside of a Perkiomenville convenience store on Wednesday.

The woman said she was standing in line inside of the store when a man stormed in, bumped into her, and then attacked her, an act that was caught through video on her cellphone.

The victim shared her story with Deanna Durante of NBC 10 Philadelphia, which aired the cellphone video in a television news report this week.

Magisterial District Court records show that Pennsylvania State Police have charged Strickland with a felony, two misdemeanors and a summary offense in connection with the incident.

The docket sheet in the case shows that Strickland was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, ethnic intimidation and harassment.

Records show he was released from custody after posting unsecured bail.

He was arraigned this past Saturday before Magisterial District Judge Albert Augustine.

Pennsylvania State Police made the arrest since Perkiomen Township, where the store is located, does not have its own municipal police force.

In the NBC 10 report, the victim says she had just finished up a shift at the store when she was standing in line waiting to make a purchase at the time the racist attack occurred.

The victim told the television station that her sharing the cellphone video of the attack ultimately helped police identify Strickland as the alleged attacker.
