Worcester Fire Co. Raising Money for Boston Victims at 5K

The event will be held on Saturday.

 

The Worcester Volunteer Fire Department will accept donations on behalf of the Boston Marathon bombing victims at its Worcester Flaming Fast 5K Run, Walk, and Kids’ Fun Run on Saturday.

The run will be held at 1127 Valley Forge Road in Worcester at 9 a.m., and the public is invited to show unity and strength for the victims of the tragedy, and for America.

The cost for the run is $25 for online registration, or $30 on the day of the event.

The Kids’ Run will start at 8:30 a.m. to children 12 and under – a $10 registration fee includes a t-shirt.

Funds will be collected for the Boston First Responders Fund for the Victims of the Boston Marathon Terrorist Attack, which will benefit the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts, Boston Fire Local 718, Boston Police Patrolman’s Association, Boston Superior Officers Federation and the Boston Police Detectives Benevolent Society.
