Aaron Nola Flirted With Braves In Free Agency But Returned To Phillies To "Give Them A World Series"

CLEARWATER, Fla. (CBS) - Aaron Nola knew he wanted to be with the Philadelphia Phillies. There was no guarantee the longest-tenured player in the organization would be back.

Nola, facing free agency for the first time in his career, spent the entire season not thinking about where he was going to play in 2024. The Phillies' six-time Opening Day starter had to address his future at some point.

When the Phillies lost in seven games in the National League Championship Series, the future became the present.
