Cat Shot With Arrow In Philadelphia, Suspect Sought: PSCPA
A caretaker for Kimiko, an outdoor cat, found her with an arrow in her thigh. Animal Law Enforcement officers are searching for a suspect.

PHILADELPHIA — A neighborhood cat is recovering after being shot through the leg with an arrow recently, according to the Pennsylvania SPCA.
Now, the PSPCA's Animal Law Enforcement team is investigating who might be responsible for the "apparent act of cruelty."
The PSCPCA said Kimiko, a calico mix, lived among a cat colony in Strawberry Mansion. When a caretaker went to feed her on Sept. 19, they found her in her usual waiting spot — with an arrow protruding through her right thigh.

The caretaker rushed Kimiko to Philadelphia Animal Specialty and Emergency (PASE), where staff stabilized her before the PSPCA came to take her to their hospital.
Surgeons there were able to remove the arrow and mend her wounds.

"She could have died had she not been found," the organization said in a social media post.
Kimiko is now healing and appears to be in good spirits — with a video showing her gladly accepting head scratches at the hospital.
"Kimiko could easily distrust humans," the post read. "After all, she was shot by one. But, she is so sweet, loving, and luckily recovering after her surgery."
She still has a ways to go before fully healing, the PSPCA said.
The PSPCA asks anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of those responsible to contact the organization’s cruelty hotline at 866-601-7722 or by email, cruelty@pspca.org. Tips can be left anonymously.
