Woman Dead, Children Hurt In Northeast Philly House Fire
The fire started in a rowhouse at about 5:40 a.m. on the 3100 block of Stirling Street in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia.
PHILADELPHIA — Two children were seriously hurt and a woman was killed in a Northeast Philadelphia residential fire late Wednesday morning.
The fire started at about 5:39 a.m. at a rowhouse on the 3100 block of Stirling Street in Mayfair, and was quickly raised to an all hands call, according to the Philadelphia Fire Department.
Crews found heavy fire in the front of the building.

Firefighters went inside to knock the fire down, which was done quickly, authorities said.
A girl, 10, and a boy, 12, were rescued from the fire, and taken to a hospital where they are in critical condition, according to Fox 29.

Action News reports the children suffered smoke inhalation and second-degree burns.
An adult woman was found dead in the building, according to fire officials.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by about 6:17 a.m.
There is no word on the cause of the fire.
