Fire Below Northeast Philly Bridge Under Investigation, Officials Say
The Tacony-Palmyra Bridge was closed for several hours Sunday as emergency responders worked to extinguish a tractor-trailer fire.
PHILADELPHIA, PA - A tractor trailer fire that closed the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge on Sunday is under investigation, officials said Monday morning.
The blaze was reported at around 4:40 p.m. at a truck and bus yard on 6400 State Road near the bridge, NBC10 reported.
The bridge, which connects New Jersey Route 73 to Pennsylvania’s Route 73, was closed for several hours, according to Fox29.

No injuries were reported, a spokesperson from the Philadelphia Fire Department told Patch.
Footage of the incident shows a large plume of smoke coming from the area of the bridge.
