PHILADELPHIA — A former member of a Philadelphia broadcast news team has been chosen to lead a long-running CBS program.
CBS announced former 6ABC Action News reporter Eva Pilgrim will be the next anchor of its newsmagazine program "Inside Edition."

Pilgrim will take over the anchor chair this fall, as the newsmagazine enters its 38th season. She will be only the fourth anchor of the long-running series, succeeding Deborah Norville, who recently departed after 30 years.
She joins the newsmagazine from ABC News, where she most recently served as co-anchor of “GMA3: What You Need to Know” and Senior National Correspondent.

At ABC News, Pilgrim reported on a wide range of breaking news stories and events, including the 2020 and 2024 elections, the Alex Murdaugh trial, the Charlottesville rally, the murder of George Floyd, and multiple hurricanes.
In 2021, Pilgrim published her children’s book, “Walter Does His Best,” which teaches children about kindness and love.
Pilgrim was born in Seoul, South Korea, into a military family and grew up moving around the world. She attended the University of Florida and the University of South Carolina.
