- North Philly’s Fotterall Square is getting a $3.5 million dollar upgrade as part of the city's Rebuild initiative. The upgrades are the first for the park in over 50 years. The plans include new benches, a mini soccer pitch, a brand new basketball court, a new playground, and even new trees. Funds from the city’s beverage tax will pay for the park work. (WHYY)
- A Philadelphia woman shot by Delaware police is facing attempted murder charges in New Castle County. 30-year-old Portia Herndon had a dispute with a 26-year-old woman Friday night around 8:30 p.m. that led to her being shot by the police. Both women were taken to Christiana Hospital, but are no longer listed in critical condition. (The News Journal)
- A 14-year-old boy is being charged with murder in the deadly shooting of Philadelphia rec center worker Tiffany Fletcher. Makie Jones, 14, was arraigned this weekend in connection with the shooting that occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The shooting occurred at the Mill Creek rec center on the 4700 block of Brown Street. (Philadelphia Patch)
