Funeral Details Set For Late Philly Police Officer Andy Chan

Former Philadelphia Police Officer Andy Chan died Dec. 2 from complications related to a 2019 on-duty motorcycle crash.

PHILADELPHIA — Funeral details for former Philadelphia Police Officer Andy Chan have been announced.

Chan died Dec. 2. He was 55.

A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church, 915 Vine St. in Philadelphia. Another viewing will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. Dec. 16 at the Cathedral Basilica Of Saints Peter & Paul, 1723 Race St. in Philadelphia

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the cathedral.

Interment will take place Tuesday at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Ave. in Bala Cynwyd.

Chan was struck riding his motorcycle on the 3100 block of Rhawn Street at about 5:45 p.m. Jan. 3, 2019.

He was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital with significant head injuries, police said.

The injuries suffered in that crash contributed to his death.

Chan is survived by his wife and three children.
