PHILADELPHIA — If you happened to pop by Geno's Steaks Monday, you likely saw the iconic cheesesteak slinging spot looking a bit different.

The restaurant at 1219 S Ninth St. got a facelift Monday, at least temporarily.

Philadelphia's premier socialite photographer Hugh E. Dillion snapped a shot of the popular eatery Monday, showing its transformation.

As seen in Dillon's photo above, Geno's is decked out in "Madden NFL 26" logos, and the main Geno's sign replaced with the word "Steakquon's."

This is an apparent marketing ploy by EA Sports as it plans to release the next iteration of its popular football video game named after late sportscasting legend John Madden.

And "Steakquon's" is a clear reference to Eagles running back extraordinaire Saquon Barkley, whose 2024 regular and post season saw him rushing for 2,504 yards and scoring 18 rushing touchdowns in addition to becoming a Super Bowl champion.

According to the official "Madden NFL 26" X account, Barkley will be on the cover of this year's game, which is set to release Aug. 14.

The new game's cover features Barkley hurdling over a player in reference to his leap over Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones at Lincoln Financial Field on Nov. 3.

While fans may be cheering for Barkley appearing on the legendary video franchise's cover, some might not be so keen on it.

Some NFL and "Madden" fans buy into the "Madden Curse," which is a superstitious belief that athletes who appear on the game's cover end up performing markedly worse after the game releases.
