  1. 100 Philadelphia schools closed early due to heat on Tuesday and Wednesday. The early dismissals are part of the district's extreme heat protocol. The policy closes schools when the temperature inside any building reaches above 85 degrees. If the building's temperature reaches 90 degrees or higher, the school will coordinate virtual learning for students' safety. (Philadelphia Patch)
  2. The jury returned a guilty verdict in the murder of 29-year-old Mia Green. Abdullah El-Amin, 40, was the subject of a six-day trial for the Sep. 28, 2020 murder of Green, a Black trans woman. District Attorney Larry Krasner made a statement about violence against LGBTQ+ people and black trans women. (WPVI-TV)
  3. Philly residents are being kept away from their homes after a fire in a high-rise blocked them from entering the building.
