Mummified Body Found After Fire In Philadelphia: Reports

PHILADELPHIA — Mummified human remains were found in a Philadelphia home after emergency crews battled a fire there recently, according to reports.

Emergency responders were called to a home on the 5700 block of Rising Sun Avenue at about 4 a.m. Monday for a fire at a vacant property, Fox 29 reports.

A woman's body that officials said was in the property for months was found when authorities searched the building, according to Action News.

NBC10 reports the remains were sent to the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office to learn more about the woman's death.
