For those wishing for a blizzard: the odds will increase for a major snow event late in the month, the National Weather Service said.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Forecasters have a clearer picture on an incoming storm this weekend that could bring snow to the region. But it will disappoint those who are wishing for heavy accumulation.

According to the National Weather Service, we can expect "light" snow in the Philadelphia region this weekend, with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation.

Back to this weekend: Precipitation will move in overnight Saturday, likely after 4 a.m. Light snow will accumulate and could cause slippery travel and other disruptions. Snow is expected to stop later in the morning.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 17. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 32. Wind chill values as low as -2. Breezy, with a northwest wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 19. Blustery, with a northwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 36. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Friday night: Snow likely, mainly after 4 am. Cloudy, with a low around 24. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Saturday: Snow likely, mainly before 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 36.
