PHILADELPHIA — There's always a new list of the best places for pizza, wine, burgers, etc. And now there's a new list online that names the "best dive bars" in every state.

Foodie website Chowhound this week published "The Best Dive Bars In Every State."

"Every great city has its share of upscale restaurants, standby classics, and cocktail and wine bars," the website reads. "But the pulse guiding any community's greater charge lies not in its latest haunts or trendiest spots but in the everyday watering holes."

Located at 1301 E. Susquehanna Ave., "The Tap," as locals call it, offers a $5 citywide (a shot of whiskey and a beer), Jell-O shots, a handful of beers on tap, hard ciders and seltzers, beer buckets, no-frills mixed drinks, and even the 9-percent-alcohol-by-volume Fishtown Iced Tea canned cocktails.

Here's what Chowhound said about Les & Doreen's Happy Tap:

Located in the trendy Philadelphia enclave of Fishtown, Les & Doreen's Happy Tap provides the neighborhood with a low-key, inexpensive venue to belt out your latest karaoke song, watch the Eagles play, or just take in one of the bar's famous Long Island Iced Teas.

The cash-only spot hosts karaoke Saturday nights. Saturdays also typically feature a Thai food pop up from Brian Hood, and chefs Julio Rivera and Mariana Hernandez serve up authentic Mexican street food Sunday through Tuesday.

Les & Doreen's has 4.7 stars based on 202 Google reviews.

"Great classic neighborhood bar. Beer is cheap with a decent draft variety," one person wrote. "Don't be a d**k, or you're gonna have a bad time."

"The happiest place on Earth," another said. "Disney could never create a better atmosphere or have $2.50 beers."

"Great neighborhood bar with low prices and friendly service and patrons," someone wrote. "A citywide is $5. Don't hesitate to stop in for a nice time."

"If the Phils, Sixers, Flyers, or Eagles are playing, you’ll find them on the tv," another Google reviewer said. "The jukebox plays all the hits. Really: there’s no better place to sit and cool your heels- and without overdrafting your bank account. All credit goes to the staff, who keep the place moving and give it a strong community."
