Krasner Defeats Dugan In Philly District Attorney Primary Race
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner beat former Philadelphia Municipal Court Judge Pat Dugan in the Democratic primary election.

PHILADELPHIA — Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has been declared the winner over former Philadelphia Municipal Court Judge Pat Dugan in the Democratic DA primary election.
The Democratic primary in Philadelphia effectively serves as the general election due to the city's overwhelming Democratic voter base, meaning Krasner is a shoo-in for a third term as Philadelphia's top prosecutor.
Krasner's tenure has been marked by reform approaches to prosecution, including charging retail thefts of less than $500 as summary offenses and rejecting stop-and-frisk tactics. But those policies have led to accusations of being soft on crime by groups such as the Fraternal Order of Police.
