Philly Man Took Minor To NJ For Sex: Federal Authorities

Authorities said the man also was found in possession of child sex abuse material, some of which featured the victim he took to New Jersey.

PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia man has been charged with child exploitation crimes after authorities said he enticed a minor into sexual activity, including making child pornography.

Bobbyjean Orak, 30, of Philadelphia, was charged with transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, interstate travel with intent to engage in a sexual act with a minor, enticement of a minor, production of child pornography, and possession of child pornography,

Orak was arraigned Thursday in a New Jersey federal court.

Authorities said in about October 2022, Orak, then 27 years old, used a facility and means of interstate commerce to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity, including the production of child sexual abuse material.

Around July 13, 2024, Orak transported the victim from Pennsylvania to New Jersey with the intent to engage in sexual activity with them, according to authorities.

The FBI and local law enforcement found the victim in Atlantic County in August 2024.

After locating the victim, authorities searched Orak’s cellphone and various of his online accounts, which revealed he had "substantial quantities" of child sex abuse material, according to prosecutors. The aforementioned victim and others were depicted in the material, authorities said.

If convicted, Orak faces 10 years to life in prison, according to authorities.

Each offense carries a maximum fine of $250,000, in addition to restitution and other assessments.
