  1. Philly's Puerto Rican diaspora has mobilized to send aid in the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona, which put most of the island under water. The Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha announced on Sep. 21 a multi-nonprofit endeavor called Unidos PA’PR, or Together for Puerto Rico. APM CEO Nilda Ruiz said it could be difficult to decide what to do with the funds once raised: “There’s a lot of distrust of agencies. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that take advantage of a bad situation.” (AL DIA News)
  2. Ernest Pressley, a Philadelphia contract killer, has pled guilty to committing six murders. According to court documents, Pressley, 42, murdered four people in Philadelphia between 2017 and 2018 for money. Pressley was also found to be responsible for the killings of two tow truck drivers who worked for A. Bob’s Towing on Jan. 12 and 13 in 2017. (WGAL Susquehanna Valley Pa.)
  3. Home Depot employees in Philadelphia are trying to unionize, which would make them the first Home Depot to do so.
