Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:

  1. Plans have been approved for 425 new apartments in Bala Cynwyd, just on the edge of Philadelphia. Hundreds of new apartments are coming to a nine-acre site in Bala Cynwyd. Under the approved plan, an existing office building will be demolished. The new structure will have 25,564 square feet of commercial space with 425 residential units and 676 structured parking spaces in a wrapped parking structure. (Main Line)
  2. Police have identified a suspect who injured three children and a man walking from a Vine Street daycare. 53-year-old Andre Shuford of E. Venango Street is described as a Black man, bald, 5'9" tall, and 210 pounds with brown eyes. Investigators say Shuford was driving a pick-up truck that struck Shaheed Richberg and three children, ages 5, 3, and 1. (WPVI-TV)
  3. Over the weekend, police responded to multiple reports of dangerous speeding along Broad, Cumberland, and Market. The peak of activity occurred between 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Saturday. As of Monday evening, police say no arrests have been made; anyone with information is asked to call Philadelphia police. (WPVI-TV)
