Philadelphia Archbishop Nelson Perez Wednesday gave Pope Leo XIV, a Villanova University graduate, an Eagles Super Bowl championship hat.
PHILADELPHIA, PA — When Villanova graduate Robert Francis Prevost was named Pope Leo XIV, the Philadelphia region cheered with joy.
While he may not be a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan, he is a native Chicagoan after all, he was gifted a ball cap celebrating the Birds' legendary Super Bowl LIX victory recently.
Philadelphia Archbishop Nelson Perez Wednesday paid a visit to the Vatican, where he briefly met with his holiness.

This isn't the first time Pope Leo XIV was given a hat of a local team with laurels.

Back in June, he was given a Villanova University hat, and he briefly donned the ball cap during a National Italian American Foundation Meeting at the Vatican.
