Roosters, Hens Rescued From Philadelphia Home: Officials
ACCT Philly found signs of cockfighting at the home, including several "dressed" roosters whose combs had been cut and prepped for fighting.

PHILADELPHIA — Dozens of hens and roosters were rescued from a Philadelphia home Wednesday that officials suspect was part of a cockfighting operation.
According to ACCT Philly, its team members were called to a rowhome in the city after learning about 45 hens and roosters living there. NBC10 reports the roosters and hens were discovered during a raid on Weymouth Street that led to the seizure of guns and drugs.
The group said its team members found signs of cockfighting at the home, including several "dressed" roosters whose combs had been cut and have been prepped for fighting.

ACCT Philly said the hens and most of the roosters were taken to Last Chance Animal Rescue for placement. Nineteen roosters that were trained and altered for fighting cannot be placed safely and will be humanely euthanized, according to the group.
