Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:

  1. The Philadelphia City Council will be introducing legislation to protect access to abortions inside the city limits, including privacy protection law, at tonight's City Council meeting. The laws would bar the voluntary sharing of information about reproductive health choices for prosecution or civil lawsuits. It would also allow patients and providers to counter-sue if they are sued by out-of-state residents seeking to prevent others from traveling for abortions. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
  2. A three-story row home, including Key Food Pizza, collapsed around 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The collapse occurred at the corner of East York and Memphis, but no injuries were reported. Along with the pizza place, at least one Fishtown apartment was destroyed. (NBC 10 Philadelphia)
  3. Health experts consider the polio outbreak in New York to be a warning sign for Philly. New York documented the first polio case in the country since 2013 as well as detection of the virus in wastewater samples. It is possible for people to contract polio without realizing it because most people do not display symptoms, though they can transmit the virus for days or weeks. (PhillyVoice.com)
