SEPTA Adding More Transit Options For 4th Of July Festivities

PHILADELPHIA — SEPTA is bolstering its transit services for Independence Day festivities in Philadelphia.

On Friday, all SEPTA modes of transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. However, SEPTA will offer late-night service on SEPTA Metro and select Regional Rail lines to accommodate people celebrating the holiday.

"We want everyone to have a great holiday and celebrate responsibly, and the best way to do that is by using public transportation to get to and from your destination," SEPTA General Manager Scott A. Sauer said. "SEPTA has great options for travel throughout the day and extra service for the big nighttime celebration."

Extra Metro Service Friday and Saturday

Ten extra [B2] Broad Street Express trains will depart Fern Rock Transit Center every 10 minutes from 6:10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday

Three extra [L] Market-Frankford Line trains will provide service from 6 p.m. until the conclusion of the concert and fireworks.

Extra Late Night Regional Rail Service Friday and Saturday

In addition to the extra service on the B, and L, late night train service will be added to
the following Regional Rail lines after the Ben Franklin Parkway fireworks display on Friday
