Shot Fired At Center City Philadelphia Store Tuesday: Reports
A security guard at the Brandy Melville store fired a shot at a man who was reportedly stealing clothes and fighting people in the store.
PHILADELPHIA — A man is in custody after an incident at a Center City Philadelphia store led to a gunshot being fired Tuesday afternoon, according to reports.
The incident occurred at about 2:05 p.m. Tuesday at Brandy Melville at 1527 Walnut St., Fox 29 reports.
A 41-year-old man is accused of coming into the store, trying to steal items, then fighting with people, including a security guard, after being confronted in the store, according to Action News.

NBC10 reports the security guard pepper sprayed the man, then fired one shot at the man, but did not strike him, or anyone, with the gunshot.
The suspect was later found at 15th and Spruce streets, where he was taken into custody.

Authorities said the security guard is permitted to carry a firearm.
