Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:
- 43-year-old Philadelphia man, Kenenth S. Thompson, has admitted to serving as a get-away driver in a bank robbery. The robbery occurred in Carneys Point during the summer of 2018. His co-defendants Antwaine Thomas and Kareem Moore previously pleaded guilty to armed bank robbery and brandishing a firearm during a bank robbery. (wpgtalkradio.com)
- A junkyard fire at 3rd Street and Sedgley Avenue is under control, but air quality is still being monitored. The fire was elevated to three alarms. It took two hours for firefighters to get the flames under control and no injuries have been reported yet. (Philadelphia Patch)
- The first trans-focused LGBTQ+ safe haven is coming to Philadelphia. The shelter will prioritize transgender women of color and will open in North Philly in October.
