Here are the top three stories in Philadelphia today:

  1. Deaf Poker Tour is returning to Live! Philadelphia this weekend, where local deaf and hearing-impaired players will compete in seven exciting poker events. The traveling tournament was founded in 2006 to give this demographic of poker players the opportunity to enjoy the game together, as well as bring "visibility to a group of individuals with invisible disabilities." Interested parties can learn more about Deaf Poker Tour and its upcoming events at deafpokertour.com. (6 ABC)
  2. An armed suspect returned to a Philadelphia cleaners in West Oak Lane to try and rob the store for the second time. Two male suspects entered the Better Cleaners in West Oak Lane around 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. The same suspect returned the next day but left after being confronted by employees. Police are currently looking for both suspects. (WPVI-TV)
  3. A teenager wounded during a deadly shooting in Kensington took a SEPTA bus to the hospital. The shooting occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday and police found an unresponsive man who later died from his injuries. Police were notified of a 16-year-old male shooting victim at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital who had been shot in the ear. (WPVI-TV)

Today in Philadelphia:

  • Philadelphia Honey Festival At The Wyck Historical House and Museum (10:00 AM)
  • Celebration Of Chinese Mid-Autumn (Moon) Festival At The American Chinese Museum (1:00 PM)

From my notebook:

  • Now that fall is here — at least in spirit — it's time for pumpkin picking and seasonal treats. Philadelphians can head to Dambly's Garden Center, Jack's Pumpkin Glow, and Arasapha farms to get it on the fun. (Patch)
  • Even if you can't head to Germany this fall, you can celebrate Oktoberfest closer to home. You can head to DelcoFest on Sep. 10 or the Fishtown Festivale (formerly FestivALE) on Sep. 24. (Philadelphia magazine)
  • Did you know the late Queen Elizabeth II visited Philadelphia? The Philadelphia Museum of Art shared a photo of her visiting the museum on a trip to Philadelphia in 1976 to mark the Bicentennial. (Philadelphia Museum of Art via Instagram)
